Assuming I get everything in early June (app, LORs, ...everything), when would be the absolute latest I should take the DAT?

I have a solid month of studying under the belt, so I should be good to go by July. I do have a lot on my plate right now though, so I want to maximize my study time. Would July 14th be too late to be considered in the first wave? I know it takes ~3 weeks to get the grades in the schools' hands, so would I be better off early July?

I took the test July 3rd, 2008 and I'm pretty sure I was considered an early applicant. I got into 5 schools and was offered interviews almost everywhere I applied.

I even took it 2nd of AUG & it was ok for most of schools...
The only late ones were CASE and NOVA...
I had 5 pre-dec & 2 post-dec interviews...
So I think you'd be still considered as early if you take it by end of JULY...

I took it on July 24th and got early interviews and first round acceptance at all of the school where I applied.

The only scary part for me was the two weeks or so that everyone on here started getting letters and I hadn't because the schools didn't have my scores yet. This site can make anyone paranoid.

If you're not ready by the end of July, don't be afraid to push it back another week or two. The most important thing for you now is to have a great DAT score so don't take it until you are ready. The pre-dents on this site have a habit of putting way too much emphasis on having your application complete right away.

i took the dats in late july. i was a bit late for case but did manage to get one of the earliest interview from nova =) so july is fine. (esp. since the cycle is opening for june) you will be considered early.
i've received interviews to almost all schools i got and been accepted to 5 schools

July's not late at all.

Just study hard and do well, and you should be fine.

I would brush up the other components of the application in the mean time, though. If you are currently shadowing, shadow more.

Write a killer personal statement...write it twenty times if you have to.

It all counts!

I will be taking the DAT in July as well. My question is should I wait until the day of my DAT and send my application in then? or send my applications in before and send the scores in later?

I already took the DAT once and have 18AA 20PAT with 3.72 cum GPA.

I was also going to take it first week of July but haven't been able to study much in May. I was freaking out about having it to take it so early but this post made me feel alot better. I think it's good to have your app out as early as possible and if end of July is not too late, I'm sure I can kick ass on this exam!! PHEW!
