They have an august one now. That's what I am going to take.

Yeah, I think the August exam is the most ideal for any applicant. Even applicants in their second year of undergrad should study over the summer an take this exam given that an average pharmacy school applicant will only have a couple months of organic by the October exam anyway. For applicants in their third year and beyond, the summer study time is great even if these people have to work.

To the OP, I haven't taken the GRE so I really can't say. The general impression I get from the posts I have read is that the PCAT is a little easier than the DAT and a lot easier than the MCAT.

do you realy think it makes big difference between august and ocotber...during august i will be out of the country...so i thought october is the best time to take it..i am now doing my masters in biotechnology in chicago...i hope this will support my application because i do not think i am good at these tests...i want to study pharmacy after i finish my Msc next year..do u think its a good time to take the PCAT this august or i should wait after i graduate..? thanks

I think you should try the june one and you can alway re-take it in october if you need to. The kaplan biology is much more difficult than what's on the actual test, so don't let it scare you. If you're working on a masters in biotech now, you should be more than prepared for pcat bio, chem, and math...

The GRE verbal is much more difficult than PCAT...
The math section is a lot different, so it's hard to compare..i thought the GRE math was hard though b/c I'd forgotten a lot of the stuff

I took the October exam and got in during the same school year, and many others get in the same way. Your chances could be hurt if you apply to schools with rolling admissions and/or early deadlines. If the worse case scenario happens, then you should have all your PharmCAS and secondary application materials before you take the PCAT so that the processing time for those materials is finished by the time that schools receive your PCAT scores.

You could take the PCAT in June and retake it in October if you didn't do so well, but that's up to your memory.

so you think the PCAT is easier...this is a good news...do you think kaplan book is my best main source...how do people get 90s in the exam..does it really depend on the other people testing with you..or you need luck in the exam...thanks alot

Yeah, Kaplan is probably the best...Barron's seems a little too easy from what I remember last year. I got an 84 last year w/o any preparation and before taking any Ochem, so I think getting in the 90s is definitely possible. Take the 'diagnositic' test at the begining of the kaplan book and see what areas your weakest in. Then just review and study those. Good luck!!
