So I was just wondering, does anybody work while in dental school? Is there anytime left after classes/studies for you guys to make some money ?! Thanks!🙂

I do private tutoring in math, usually 1-2 hours a week. Optimally I'd do about 3-5 but no one has answered my ads lately. I charge $60/hr so that might be a reason haha. Still, it's fairly reasonable for a private tutor.

If you're looking for a job that pays $8-12/hour then you'd probably want more than a few hours a week. Perhaps you could handle that. Depends... will vary from person to person.

Dude...no offense, but I'd say you are overpriced.

we have a nurse and a DH that moonlight on weekends.

I play online poker a couple nights a week haha (more for enjoyment, but to make a couple bucks here and there also).

One of my classmates could probably have paid back his whole cost of attendance from his online poker winnings. Another classmate was a professional poker player before starting dschool...

Dang man considering the COL difference between where we are I think you effectively charge like 5x as much a I did.

I'm just trying to make up for all the math posts I make here 😉

No but seriously it's actually not overpriced if you do some searching. A lot of people who charge like $30 are not as experienced... they can't reasonably charge more. I've been at this for several years. I did start at 40, then did 50, and now I'm at 60. There are tutors who have been working for YEARS who charge 100+. I think that's absolutely insane. I would never go higher than 75 if I was the best tutor on the planet.
