What other majors did you guys apply for when applying to college? We have a lot of people saying they don't care about the money. However arond 95 percent of them also applied to accounting, computers, and enginneering.

I was a psych major and bio minor. Although I am passionate about the field, I ultimately realized I DO care about money to some degree. I busted by butt through 4 years of undergrad only to end up working in a day care for 9 bucks an hour. I explored my options and realized I could combine my interest in science and psych by going into pharmacy and specializing in psychiatry. That is the path I'm on now. I'm a P-2 and so far so good. I do miss the psych courses from undergrad, but I'm currenty looking to get involved doing research with some of our faculty who study psychiatric pharmacy topics.

I have a BS in Psych from UCF in Orlando, FL and I'm hoping to get into Psychiatric Pharmacy as well.... How do you like what you've learned about it so far? I felt the same way about the money. I make $10/hr with a Bachelor's degree plus an additional 2 years of pre-requisites and I just think I'm worth a little more than that 😉
I like how psychiatric pharmacy can combine medical and social science. I really think I'd like that field of pharmacy.
