So I've already done all of my AAMC's, scores ranged 27-30 on those...average was 29.8.

I'm prepping for a (potential) retake on the 25th so wanted to try my hand that the free GS exam..

I got a 32 on it (11/11/10). Should I take this to mean that I'm actually improving (as I've heard GS is harder) or should I take this with a grain of salt?

It seems right up to par with your average.
If your average is a 29.8 aka 30 that means you are capable of a 28 and also a 32!

I haven't taken mine yet but I do have heard that GS results correlate well with AAMC scores so that means you are doing well!

Why don't you take one more and see where you're at? I am sure you'll see an upward trend.

I might take the free GS as well since a lot of people are saying that the practice AAMC tests were different from the actual tests. I only have a week left and still 4 more AAMCs left so was thinking of just doing the PS and BS on the GS exams and skipping verbal to save time.

OP, I would review it and see where your mistakes were. Their scale seems more generous but I would check what kind of topics you're getting wrong.

OP i just took the same exam on Saturday. I was killed by their VR section, i felt their passages were a bit long.. i got an 8 but i usually average 9-11 on TPRHL Verbal.. i could have had a bad day but i guess i just gotta really work on verbal now.

Also as for their scale i would say its pretty lenient.. a 39 on bio was an 11... 41 on ps was an 11.. on most AAMC scales these two raw scores result in a 10.

I would subtract a point from each of the science sections for a more conservative outlook. I personally prefer more pessimistic expectations during prep to push me to work harder, but everyone is different.

I actually hate their verbal. The questions are so ambiguous. Two or even three answers essentially say the exact same thing...it's annoying.

You can't compare scales of one to another. Is it possible for a score to be lower or higher? Yes. But, to compare the raw score on a GS test to an AAMC one is doing yourself a disservice. Do it to motivate you if that's how you like to be pushed.

**just elaborating on BrothaX point

Just did GS-1 free CBT but PS section only. I got 42/52 but for some reason it's not reporting the score right. Anyone have the scale on them?
