Just completed SMP. Should I apply this cycle with a low MCAT or apply next cycle?

  1. Pre-Medical
So I just completed a SMP at Rutgers Newark Graduate school of biomedical sciences

Undergrad GPA: 3.19 sGPA: 2.9

MCAT(2 times-Both during Undergrad)

7/2015: 498(129/121/124/124)
1/2016: 493(125/123/123/122)
I know I bombed this but I clearly didnt take the time to study properly while I was in Undergrad.

SMP GPA: 3.6

I have volunteering experience as a case manager in a clinic at a hospital as well as research rotations and poster presentation from undergrad. In addition, I went to global brigades to Honduras and have some shadowing experience.

Obviously, I have to retake my MCAT. Would it be worth it to just focus on DO and possibly apply this cycle or to maximize my chances of a good mcat score and apply next cycle? I plan to retake MCAT in a few weeks but If im not ready based on AAMC practice exams, I wont take it. Do I still have a chance at MD given I get a good MCAT score(512+)?
