Well I'm not gonna give out any of the interview questions, so don't ask. There are a multitude of reasons why I won't so lets leave it at that. Let me say though I was very impressed. The overall experience was great and not nearly as stressful as you would think. The students were really excited to be there and everyone was helpful. I know two d1 students there and I met some others and they all felt the same about the school. Students went out of there way to help and ask what I thought. The clinic was very nice and expansive. The dean sold the school so well I was ready to ask "where do I sign?" The people who work there are real and are very up front. I interviewed there last year and I was dissapointed but I have had a change of heart. As a matter of fact I was interviewed by the same guy and this time I felt good afterwards. Just my .02 cents.

I don't care about the questions they ask, I'm up for the challenge. But I do want to know if the written exercise is an essay? I want to prepare myself mentally since writing is not my forte.

My interview is tomorrow and I just want to get a heads up. Also when you were in Mesa did you see anything cool? I don't fly out until Thursday afternoon and want to see some of the Arizona scenery.

Thanks ASU-devil!

i interview tommorrow too!

I'm just curious, why not share a few questions with the rest of us? Questions that arent so typical, like' why dentistry'. Did they make you sign some sort of gag order? 😛

I had my Arizona interview about two weeks ago, and I know exactly why they want to give a gag order. They ask a bunch of questions that are right and wrong answers. example: How many Canadian provinces border the northern united states? example: If a plane crashes on the border of Arizona and Mexico, where would they bury the survivors? That last one was a joke. They have a limited question bank to select from, so just go in and be yourself. There is no real studying for it. It was probably the most laid back interview I had yet. Good luck.

Because its a competition for the few spots.

I'd be glad to share with you all the questions they asked me.

After Dec. 1, of course.

their interview was sooooo laid-back......i LOVE the school and was really impressed by the facilities. this year its pretty competitive though, the dean said 3000 applied and only 54 are accepted.

Did they say how many they are interviewing?

I interviewed there a few weeks ago and there was no written essay at all. I think they did away with it and replaced it with a new dexterity test they're doing this year. It's not bad. Good luck.

I interviewed there a few weeks ago and was told that they are going to interview only 250 this year.

Congrats to all those who've had interviews recently at Arizona.

When I first matriculated, back in 2003, I remember posting about how phenomenal I thought the school was. I was bombarded with quite a bit of criticism as a result of that, which was fine and completely understood. The school was new and people didn't know what to think.

I'm glad that interviewees are having great experiences at Arizona. I just got back from the ADA convention in Philly and the other dental students I spoke with (mostly D3 and D4 students) were AMAZED at the things I told them about our school. This bodes well for the school. Does the school still have problems? Sure, it's a school for cryin' out loud. But it also has a teriffic staff, awesome facilities, and is giving us a tremendous clinical education. A student I spoke with at NYU mentioned that they had a goal of $24,000 in productivity prior to graduation (a combined total from the D3 and D4 years). We've been in clinic for 3 months and I have classmates that have produced half of that already. I myself have produced 1/3 of that. $24,000 sounds pretty weak from where I'm standing. I would expect to have $30,000 by the end of my D3 year.

Once again this doesn't mean anything in and of itself. But for students at a new school, such as Arizona, it's another little tidbit that lets us know our education is heading in the right direction.

I just got back from Indiana and I can see major differeces between the two. Some good and some bad. Indiana has history behind it and with that comes experience, but also with history comes age and their facilities are old. Az has some flaws like all school have, maybe more than others because they are new but they have all state of the art equipment which truly is important. I think my choice goes to Az for 2 major reasons the first is location because I live close to the school and the other is price.

Not only that, but they are 50/50 male/female. With males being the majority of their applicants, I have an even slimmer chance of getting in.

What exactly do you mean? Just curious.

I'm not sure what flaws you are refering to? I mean they're a new school and therefore trying new methods of teaching. 2 week learning modules as well as taking the boards after the 1st year. AZ seems to pride itself on blazing a path for other schools follow. In that sense there is some risk for the students, but I thought the school was very professional.
