Hello, my fellow sdn members:
I have been a silent reader and this will my first post on this site. Please try your best to understand any mistake I will be making. Thanks in advance!

So, I just took the OAT and here are my scores:
QR.......300
RC.......280 =(
Bio.......310
Chem..330
Orgo...300
Phy....340

TS....330, AA....310

I think I did ok overall. My RC section is ahh.. not so good. I am a slow reader and I tend to panic when I look at the timer.
What do you think? Are my scores competitive enough? Should I retake? How will my low RC score affect my chance of acceptance? (I am applying for the 2016-2017 school year)

Here are my other stats: GPA 3.4, Science 3.0
Extracurricular: shadowing, volunteered at hospital (not related to eye care), research (biology related with few abstracts and papers published), and leadership experiences
Do you think I have a chance? Any advice on improving my chance of admission? What school do you recommend me to check out?

Feel free to tell me your most honest opinion. Any feedback will help. Thank you, again.

You have a solid t s which is the most
Important one and your a a is good too! I think you should be fine .. I got a 330 t s and 320 a a and I got a 290 on math and got interviews at everywhere I applied and my g p a was pretty similar to yours as well. If you have any questions you can p m me

OAT score is ok, and with your other stats, you should get interviews. I've seen people with lower stats get accepted.

Good luck.

Thank you, CollSmith & Mark2k8! I also forgot to mention. I do not have of shadowing hours. I am also worry about that.

Collsmith - I PM-ed you.

you should be fine! apply early...make sure you complete all your supplementals (if required) and fees! get them in ASAP! good luck!

Hey, How hard would you rate the exam from 1-10? Im taking mine soon and was wondering how much time I need to put into it. I've been studying a lot so hopefully i get a 300+. How did you study?

Exam itself wasn't too bad for me. I would say it is hard if you don't study the right material. I followed a list of topics that I need to study (from the OAT) website. I used Kaplan for reviewing. And OAT destroyer for practice and Examcracker for physics .

You'll get into a lot of schools for sure!! How did you do so well on Physics? Does it come easy for you or did you really have to work hard for it?

Thanks! =)
Physics wasn't easy for me. It was the second hardest subject for me (1st is reading). I did the entire Examcracker 1001 questions. And it helped a lot.
