Hey guys, new to the forum. I'm currently a freshie trying to pursue a career in Dentistry. I was initially inclined to go into Investment Banking, but I soon realized it wasn't my cup of tea. Here is my Q. Are dental schools more apt to choosing students who have completed a bachelors in some type of science?

Official answer: No.

Now that I think about it though, it would be interesting to see the ratio of applicants:enrollees for holders of BA's versus BS's, with controls for DATs and GPAs. Even then though it still wouldn't be methodologically valid, as one cannot control for intangible factors which nonetheless still play a role in admissions.

i think if you do extremely well in the pre-reqs then the probably of you needing a bachelors is very low (A's and A-'s), but if you do semi ok (A, A-'s, B's and even lower) then it would look better to get a bachelors especially in upper divison biology.

Appreciate the input 😀
