how easy do you think it was for vanessa kerry to get into harvard?? i wonder if they even looked at her scores or if they just saw "kerry" and that was that?? i wonder....

i think it made a notable difference for her, although she is pretty smart unlike the bush twins.

i think you could ask this about a lot of celebs/wealthy people's kids, not just kerry.
that said, of course not all the people that get in because of legacy have amazing SATs, extracurriculars, grades, i think.

the actress jordana brewster got into yale or something...her grandfather was president at one time...wonder how hard it was for her! at least kerry kinda exudes intelligence....

4 more years!

superdood, you're 4 years too early. you don't have to sing the kerry re-election cheers until 2008, relax!

i went to high school with her, although I did not know her that much.

She had a reputation for being nice and smart.

I am sure she earned her way to Harvard, although Kerry name must have helped

by the way, isn't Ben Affleck the luckiest guy in the world? He dated J.Lo and now he is dating Vanessa Kerry

I wish I was a movie star

She probably deserves it more than the Bush girls deserved to go to Yale.

actually only one of the Bush girls went to Yale ( I do not know which)
I think the other one went to U Texas, Rice or Texas State (?), one in Texas but I do not know which.

Forget his daughter! BUSH went to Yale despite his obvious academic and interpersonal deficiencies. As it stands, he took the place of someone more qualified than him. Oh the injustice!

One of the students in my freshman dorm had the same last name as the dorm. The *same* last name. It was her great-grandfather, as I recall.

If you have them, why not use them. Shoot, if my daddy were president I would use his name for my advantage. Isn't that what parents are for? 🙂

rrreeeaaaallyy....i'm behind too! no wonder he was parading around the democratic convention!!! lucky him??lucky HER!!!😛

It's just gossip 😀 He thinks she's hot, if he had to choose 1 of his daughters it would have to be her. She thought it was flattering, according to the reports, nothing romantic or anything beynd a small friendship has become of it.

So no, you're not out of the loop 🙂

come on, if somebody (especially famous people) says that he/she is just a friend with someone, you know they already went to third base.

He he, he he

I love how everyone gives Bush crap for having a C average at Yale during a time when grade inflation did not exist. Yet no one ever mentions Gore failed out of Vanderbilt's Divinity school yet he is more qualified than Bush. Damn liberal ignorance.

i heard that that was just a rumor and that he is actually dating jennifer garner, of alias fame.

As for legacy, what percentage of your applications ask if you have a parent or family member who is a faculty member, alumni, employee? at least of third of my applications do. It makes me sick.

Sounds a lot like affirmative action if you ask me. Besides, legacy is big at the ivies - and they can do whatever the hell they want.

My Great-Great Grandfather went to Wash U....think I have a chance? 😛 I don't even know his name...

i particularly dislike it when they say underneath "this will not affect the decision made by the admissions committee"... well then why the hell does it matter if they have relatives?

Gore isn't president. He also doesn't have trouble remembering big words.

This is from USA today:

Then there was the tabloid rumor in May that linked Vanessa to actor Ben Affleck after they made campaign appearances together, a rumor she laughs off.

"I can only assume (the rumor) was put out there by a Republican, as both women, in fact, clearly have better taste than that," Affleck jokes by e-mail. Vanessa and Alexandra "are remarkably grounded, well-rounded, down-to-earth people."

The Kerry sisters won't say who, if anyone, they are dating.

In most admissions processes they have what you call a "development applicant" meaning if your family is very wealthy and potentially a large contributor, it helps. From what I understand it is comparable to being a minority but not quite to that extent.

Wait - you're not talking about FAIRNESS are you? Since when is anything "FAIR"? Get over it. It's a childish notion.

Is it fair that the average pre-med student is "smart"? Is it fair that Vanessa Kerry had to inherit her horse-faced father's looks? Does it matter, anyway?

NO.

Just because Gore failed out of school, that doesn't make it okay for Bush to earn a 'C' average....

I would argue with you; but, after listening to their speech last night... What the hell was that?

Oh speech writers, will you ever learn?

no kidding, their speech was horrible! aahhnold on the other hand was quite amusing...girlie men!!

cant stand arnold. i think its pathetic and offensive that he says "girlie men." what exactly does that phrase exude? to me it tells me that he is using girly as a deragatory insult. so girlie men are bad. im assuming girlie women are equally as bad. what does it mean to be girlie? to cry? its that kinda of american (or should i say austrian) attitude that makes america sound dumb. who the hell makes fun of people when they cant get others to do their bidding? im sure that calling people "girly men" doesnt help!

DIVINITY School...we are not talking about a normal education here. I don't like Gore that much, but your buddy bush didn't deserve to get into college anywhere....well maybe a local 2 year school.

Forget C averages/failing out of school, have you heard the man try to speak?

.........Vanessa Kerry 😍

err, Laura's looking over my shoulder.

Later, y'all. I've gotta hit the trail and gather more votes from buck-tooth women.
