Hello Everyone...

I can't believe I'm on here 🙂 It feels like ages ago I was on here studying for the DATs and applying...

But at the same time, boy does time pass by QUICKLY!!!! I CAN NOT believe I've been in school for a month!! :scared: and midterms are around the corner! :scared:

So..I have a basic question...when it comes to specializing afterward, what kind of things do they look for? I mean, I tried to search a lot but I'm not really succeeding...

like for dental school you had to have a gpa ~3.5+, shadow, LOR, extracurriculars.....what about specializing after dental school?? What are the GPAs wanted for different specialties like ortho, ped, endo?

Where can I get this info from?

Thank you very much for your help!

You need to do good in boards.
You need to have good grades.
The dean and the staff said they write good reference letters when you have a very good « parcours ». They want you to be professionnal from the start to the finish line.

I guess extracurriculars can help if it's related to scientific research and public health otherwise I wouldn't count on it.

There you go. (From a fellow D1).

By the way you better come to the IDSC (International Dental Student Conference) in 2010 in Montreal. The website is going to be up soon for registering. It's going to be a blast. There's already a few american colleges showing their interest on being there.
