Just Submitted my ERAS for transfer

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You mention that you're applying for a PGY-2 position:

If you are in a categorical program and are trying to switch from one program to another, most of those programs don't use ERAS to look for PGY-2 residents. You would contact the program directly. There's nothing wrong with using ERAS, but most people don't. So in that case, you should contact the program directly, let them know you're interested in a PGY-2 position, and that you've submitted an application in ERAS.

If you're in a prelim program and are trying to switch your PGY-2 position, that's more complicated. You need a match waiver from your current Advanced spot before you can look for new positions. You'd need to apply to the NRMP for a waiver, which they would likely give you for this situation.

EDIT: Missed that you said that you reached out to coordinators by email. That's just fine, they will send the information to the PD.

You should start to hear things after Jan 30th. Most programs will decide whether they will renew or non renew contracts by then. I would definitely make sure with your PD if your spot is still yours if you dont end of transferring. Gotta have a back up plan
