So, I created a thread about my genetics class some time ago, and things haven't changed much since. I just finished my fourth exam of seven, and I'm really not doing as well as I'd hoped. On my last exam I got a 91%, the class average was a ~45% I believe, but that's the only exam I've done well on. This professor is INSISTENT that he DOES NOT curve. Out of 200 of us, he says that roughly 15 of us will get an A.
I'm afraid that I could get a grade ranging anywhere from a C- to an A- and this class is affecting other courses... I know NOW that genetics isn't even required (though my counselor told me it was for most d-schools when we made my schedule) so anyone have any opinions? I am doing pre-reqs and am technically a post-bacc. I really need to bring up my GPA (I currently have a 3.3 cGPA and 3.5 sGPA) for d-school. I don't want to hurt my GPA with this class, but I already have 2 Ws on my transcript from my undergraduate career (one of which I retook and got a B+ years ago) which is why I'm hesitant to just take the W.
Thanks!
