I don't know where else I can contact (for free) an opthamologist or some people who know a little something. Anyways, in one eye (right eye) I can't see as far and things are blurry but up close it is normal. My guardian took me to see some ophthalmologist and he said something like this, "your eye is like this because you sit in front of the computer a lot and it makes you close sighted."

Is it just me or this guy doesn't know what he is talking about??

Thank you for your time!

The doctor may be talking about accommodating, although this typically should affect both eyes. A good cycloplegic refraction would answer that question pretty easily. I don't think anyone can answer in your specific case without performing an exam. If you're unhappy, seek a second opinion.

Thanks! One more question if you don't mind... will my eye stay close-sighted? Or does this require some testing....

Please, no one here can give you an informed medical opinion, as no one responding can examine you. If you are dissatisfied with the answers above, seek a qualified second opinion from an ophthalmologist who actually can examine you. Asking for advice here about your medical problems is not an appropriate use of this board.

And what exactly do you presume ("pre-health") when you post "just testing your knowledge?" How exactly are you able to know enough to "test"?
