Congratulations, demonicr, on your results! Having even scores is awesome, and I wish I could have your QR score! Now sit back and enjoy referring to the DAT in the past tense!

any tricks that you saw...
what is your advice.
any weird questions, or just the norm?

Demonicr:

First off, congrats on your DAT scores...very nice. I was just wondering if you could tell us how you studied. For instance, how many TopScore tests did you take?, and how many Kaplan tests did you take?, what scores you got on those tests compared to how you did on the real DAT? Thanks. As Sprgover said, now you can refer to the DAT in the past tense.....lucky!

the questions are pretty general, sort of like some of the simpler one on the practice tests in kaplan and barrons,.. for the GC section, i don't think i even look at the periodic table at all, everything was pretty much given to you. the PAT section was kinda wack, it looks like the image was drawn in low resolution and blown up bigger, the angles were all jagged. don't know if its my monitor or what. for the reading section, i didn't even read it, i went striaght to the questions and start hunting. well thats my technique at least, because my reading skill sucks. i found a lot of them. many, i just guess and move on. for the math section i didn't know what went wrong, i knew how do like 37 of them. i was an engineer so i had a lot of math courses and didn't really study for this section. so i guess i was overconfident and made careless errors. but this section is very similar to the type of question barrons and kaplan asked. a bunch or algebra, some trig, and geometry. my technique by getting through this section fast is just round numbers and estimate them to quickly calculate it. since its multiple choice u can be able to match the ones that is closest.

Topscore is probbaly one of the best simulation of the actual test, i score pretty much almost the same as top score, a few points higher in some section, like GC. the PAT on topscore as u probably heard is super easy compare to the actual PAT. i was getting 24-26 on topscore. acethedat is probably a waste of money because its full of errors and the PAT is insanely stupid. especially the top, front, end section. i think if i spend 5 minute on one of them i still can't visualize the 3D view of it. well, i would share more but some people on the forum might get mad if i start to describe the actual question on it....good luck to you all

What is your GPA? Where do you go to school?

I'm hoping your gpa is similar to mine, then maybe I have some hope.

Thanks,

Utes

i have a 3.11 gpa, yeah its kinda low. i went to the univerisity of colorado at boulder, i didn't have any intention of going post undegrad school when i was an engineering student so i slack. when i returned to school and took predental courses, i took a total of 52 semester hours of bio, chem, and ochem classes, i have a gpa of 3.65 in those classes. hopefully they look strongly at those classes rather than my engineering coures where i didn't do too great... with my low gpa i am thinking whether i should retake the dat...

whats ur stat? why u thinking u don'r have a chance?

I have around a 3.3, I'm attending the University of Utah. My science classes are by far my lowest, like most people, I did really well in my gen-ed's. I'm hoping to get around what you got on the DAT.
