Hey guys, so I just took the 2009 DAT and starting to really freak out. I've done everything I've been told to do... Went through all of destroyer (except couldn't finish entire bio section), wrote out all questions I got wrong and redid them all, have improved tremendously on Bootcamp, read Cliffs and Feralis, etc.

On the DAT Bootcamp full length tests, I've been scoring above 20's on every section. I feel confident when taking those practice tests, but I was worried if it was because I had seen some of the questions before while doing individual section tests (especially in science areas), so I took 2007 and 2009 DAT. 2007 I did okay - 18 bio, 21 GC, 25 orgo, 22 PAT, 18 RC, 21 QR.

I just took 2009 DAT now and am terrified. I got 19 bio, 18 GC, 17 orgo, 22 PAT, and 21 RC (17 in QR but taking that with a grain of salt).

I'm so confused because I felt so confident about my GC and orgo skills and have excelled in those areas with BC above all, scoring 22+ every time. Now I just feel like I don't know anything in the science area. My DAT is in 6 days so any advice/encouragement would be really helpful 🙁

Don't worry. If I remember correctly, I did about the same on the 2009 DAT. Just review what you feel are problem areas and you should be OK.

What are you BC scores?

first and foremost -- relax. losing any confidence before DAT is bad. you did fine on bootcamp -- those scores are quite indicative of your real DAT score just like 2007 and 2009 tbh.

review the questions you got wrong on 2007 and 2009 dat. understand why you got them wrong. review topics of questions you got wrong.

review DAT bootcamp questions + DAT destroyer questions --> understand all questions + topics within

good luck

I would say you are fine. Just look over your mistakes, review your sciences, math formulas, and do some PAT practice. You are on the home stretch. I did this about two weeks ago and I was so nervous but I ended up doing well! You can do this 🙂. If you have any questions, don't be scared to PM me!

Your average bootcamp scores are great! I wouldn't place too much emphasis on the 2007/2009. As you can see, the scores between the two tests aren't even consistent. I just took the DAT on Saturday and got a 21AA/21TS. On BC, the first time I took the tests I never got above a 20. I usually got a 19/20 for each subject. Right before my DAT I took the 2007 and 2009 exams as well. On the 2007, I think my I had 19TS/20AA. On 2009, I only took the science and math portions, but I got a 19 or 20TS (depending which conversion scale you use) but only a 17 on math which terrified me. A side note, there were quite a few errors on the answer key for 2009, so if you haven't scored based on that, I would check out the other threads. Anyway, I had a similar experience where I began to doubt myself and wonder if I should reschedule. I convinced myself I needed to take the test and be done with it since my semester starts tomorrow. Ended up exceeding my BC average in each of the sciences by 1-3 points (despite feeling like they went terribly during the test-especially bio!), topped my RC on BC by 1 point, topped my QR on BC by 2 points, and got my average PAT score. The QR section was so much easier than I anticipated and was basic math. If I spent more time practicing and had the timing down, I would have done much better. My best friend took it the same day and got a 26 on it, and she never got above a 20 on BC. I know this is a long post, but I wanted to be thorough because I know the few days before my DAT I was stalking SDN. By the way, I used the same study materials as you, but I barely used destroyer so I think you are extremely well prepared. Best of luck to you, I am sure you will do very well!

So sweet of you!!! Thanks so much for the encouragement. I posted my original post literally right after I scored myself for 2009 and had no idea about the errors. Turns out I got a 20 on bio, 19 GC, 18 orgo, 21 PAT, 22 RC. So not quite as bad as I thought, still was freaked out a bit. I've just been going over literally everything I don't feel 100% on really really in depth. My DAT is in 2 days so I'm just reviewing today, doing some PAT and QR and going over trouble questions for NS. I'll let you know how it goes!

You're very welcome! My biggest advice as far as last minute studying would be orgo reactions and PAT. I hadn't touched PAT in a couple days and didn't do as well as I anticipated.
