😕 Okay guys, here is the damage: AA 19
PA 16
TS 19
QR 17
RC 20
Ochem 18
Gchem 19
Biology 20

Alright, I sent my application to AASAS on Oct.9. The deadline for my school is Dec. 1st, so my application might not make it in time since it takes 6-8wks to process. I read the entire kaplan book in 2 weeks. Took 3TS tests and the Kaplan CD test. I took the tests over a 2 week period----i put in between 6-8 hours a day for this period. By the way, reading the Kaplan book didnt help that much while the tests helped a ton. My math and PA scores are jokes.

Math: Im pretty pissed off with this score since I knew pretty much everything. The only thing that killed me were nerves, time, and stupid mistakes. I had 8 problems left with 2 minutes. AAARRRGGHhhh...

PA: Strange thing happened...i zoned out for 10 minutes, so i ran out of time without checking back at all!!! Hardest part was the angles because they were way to close to tell. Im 100% sure that if i need to retake the test, i will score in the 20s on PA and at least 19 on math...

Biology: People that wrote in scared the crap out of me when they posted how hard the biology is. The biology is not that bad. Just do what you should be doing and learn kaplan and use other sources to clear up any confusion.

Gchem: Ran out of time on this section. Im positive i could go up in this score.

Ochem: Ran out of time again!!! had 19 minutes for this section. Know Kaplan and use other sources to clarify the mechanisms so you understand them and can predict what the answer will be.

QR: this was terrible...spent 30 minutes on first passage?!?!?! 23 on second passage....left me with 7 minutes to read and answer question for 3rd paragraph..ahhh!!

I am really upset about my math, gchem, and PA scores.....i averages 22 on all my tests for PA, so this is a joke. I knew the gchem and math, but didnt work at a fast enough pace to score what i feel i should have scored....in the 20s....

okay,
take care

i dont think you need to retake it with those scores. your PAT is low, but after you wait 90 days to retake most schools will have made their decisions. dont worry about dec 1st, the deadline applies for when you submitted to AADSAS (oct 9), not when the school receives it.
so what was the biology section like for you? you thought kaplan was enough? i'm taking my DAT next week....a little nervous.

bio isnt that tuff???? u have given me some hope... i am taking the test next week .... ochem is the other area i feel hopeless about !!

Because I didnt give myself enough study time, I was nervous going into the Biology section. This anxiety was compounded by all the posts stating how hard it was. Even worse, the people saying this were the ones getting the highest bio scores on the test. So, be afraid, and study well. My test consisted of Enzymes, Origin of Life, Cellular respiration, Cleavage, Proteins, Digestion, Hormones, Genetics, Classification, Nervous system.....there were more topics as well....it touched on a little of a lot. My information came from Barrons, Kaplan(mainly KP and Internet), my phisiology text, and the INTERNET--thats my biggest source!!!

Dude you didnt study. If you study you can improve. If you are applying next cycle retake the test.

I would just sit back and see what develops. I too freaked out during the DAT. I actually finished the Nat. Sciences portion of the test with 35 min. to spare. Being the careful person that I am, I went through all 3 science sections twice and changed a ****load of answers, which explains why I screwed up so bad on Bio and Ochem. Not surprisingly, these two sectoins conveniently happened to be the only sections of the test I didn't score a 20 or above. But just chill bro. I noticed that you already got an interview, which I have not, so you're money. 👍

amino,
i think that you will be fine with those scores unless your gpa is really really bad. you are a little late in the app cycle but there are many schools still interviewing.
keep your fingers crossed and hopefully everything will work out.

good luck!!!

Good job either way on you're first DAT. hope things work out for you this cycle, but if not, apply early in May and you'll have you're pick of schools. Must feel nice to have the DAT out of the way.

good luck and let us know what happens

You have solid stats and don't listen to those snobs that terrorize the whole forum with this F'ing myth that one needs to get 21 on every section to be accepted. Look, if you have 2.5 sci gpa and 25 on DAT you still won't get in no matter how early you apply, unless you daddy has connections 😀

So far, be patient and wait. If you have 3.1 GPA then you should not have trouble getting in if not this but next year. You did apply late, which is a drawback wit with your stats. I got in having 15 on Math section and still got accepted to my number one school.

What is your GPA? Any solid LOR’s? How about shadowing? Please provide more information about your standing so you get more justified answers.

CHEERS!

i agree
you are probably a late applicant. if i were you i would cosider a back up plan because usually good dat and gpa works for late applicant, but honestly it seems like you did things at the last minute.
Have you gotten any interviews yet???????

good luck
