hey guys...you haven't seen me arnd but i've been creepin these forums for a lil bit now and they've helped immensely!

i just wanted to get y'alls advice on whether i should retake:

PAT 19
QR 17
RC 20
BIO 19
GC 21
OC 20
TS 20
AA 19

I know their not amazing scores...so yaa your input plzz
thnxx =]]

they might not be the best scores but they are pretty decent. what is your GPA and extra curricular like? Anything below a 3.4, i suggest you wait a year, try to bring that GPA up slightly and apply ASAP next cycle. Anything above a 3.6 with fantastic extra curricular, apply within a week and you still might have a decent shot

Isn't it above average? I would definitely keep that scores 🙂 But it is always your decision to retake it to be more competitive.

As you can see on my signiture that we had the same scores except PAT and then my Gen chem is 18 wich is -3 and my o-chem is 23 +3. I would apply. There are no red flags in your scores. Also the DAT is only part of the Applcation. Your EC's and gpa will also play a big part in your success. I dont think the dat will be what is holding you back if you dont get in.

thanks for the input everyone =]]
but yeah my gpa is on the lower end (3.2-3.3ish)
and i haven't yet done any shadowing hours in the last two yrs since i started college...altho i did do some in highschool
i did volunteer at a research lab for a month last year though, i don't knw how much weight that holds

i think i'm going to take "iwannabeadentist"'s advice and try to bring up my gpa this year and apply for the next cycle...

I would still apply to at least the in state schools... if you don't get in, then you lose $400-500... but if you do, you get an extra year of practicing dentistry which could be in the $100k area first year out😉

Your call, but that's my opinion.

You definitely have decent scores. What might hinder your chances a little is the fact that you've taken your DAT so late. Provided that you have a good GPA from a credible institute and that you're also strong on your EC, I'd say you still have a chance of getting in this year.
However, I also like to tell you that last year I had the same exact scores AA19 TS20 PA19 with a GPA of 3.85. I took my DAT at the end of July, yet only 2/9 schools interviewed me, and they both waitlisted me.
With this in mind, if you have the money go ahead and apply this year, but keep in mind that you may get waitlisted at some of the schools. If money is tight, wait and apply next year. Your scores are decent enough to get you into some school if you apply early enough.

Good luck👍

where do u want to go???
u def have a sick shot at nyu
i would send out my application ASAP if i were u
