Hi guys,

So I just took my DAT yesterday, and I got my scores back (not the percentile though)
I have a 3.3 gpa and a 3.1 science gpa
I also have extensive extracurricular activities and have done research and taught multiple college courses.

PA 21
QR 19
RC 22
BIO 18
GC 20
OC 17
TC 18
AA 19

My science wasnt too hot, and I felt like that was a combination of me being nervous to start out and lack or preparation.
But that being said, what do you guys think, should I chance it and apply as is or should I wait a month and retake it (and wait another month for the app to be completed) ?
Help a brotha out =(

Hi there,
I believe in order to retake you need to wait 3 months. That being said, I would apply with your scores and see what happens. Re-taking it 3 months from now would be risky because many schools would already have most of the students selected. You can try though, but I see it more difficult than getting in with the scores you have right now.
How did you prepare?

How did you prepare?

I teach a general chemistry course in my university (which constitutes about 1/2 of the GC portion)
I just looked at a kaplan book and did some problems, a friend of mine had the Crack Dat PAT and I did a couple tests from that.
other than that I just skimmed material. Didn't prepare as well as I wanted but between this and work I haven't had the opportunity to study as much as I wanted to. I'm already taking a year off and I would hate for me to have to wait 2 years to get into dental school.

Apply. I don't think your scores are bad. Plus, scores are not the only factor schools look at when considering an applicant.
