I have heard a lot of people say that they thought they failed the NAPLEX after they took it, but they ended up passing it. I am feeling the same way right now. I'm not sure if I passed. I have a couple of questions who are familiar with the NAPLEX scoring system.

1) I had a lot of calculations, and most of them were not the kind of problems from my Midwestern University review binder. They seemed complicated and I had to guess on a lot of them. Anyone else experience this? And how heavily are the calculations weighted?

2) Most of my questions seemed very hard. Is it true that the people who have tough questions are the ones who end up doing fine? I had some questions about hospital pharmacy, dosage forms, and brand names that I had no clue about.

🙁

The harder the question the more it is worth. You need fewer hard questions right than easy/medium questions to pass. No one is quite sure how the NABP scales your score, but it is almost always in your favor.
Calculations are weighted heavily.

I took the NAPLEX twice...once for New York and once for Florida. Both times I had a LOT of questions on things I had never seen before and thought I had failed, but both times I passed with plenty of room to spare. Most recently I took it this past October, I didn't have a huge amount of calculations but the ones I did have were pretty straightforward, and I am sure I got most of them right. I have also heard calculations are weighted more heavily. Just remember, they drop 35, hopefully the ones they drop are the ones you got wrong! I am sure you will be fine.
