There should be some movement on the waitlist shortly after February 15th (2nd deposit due date)! Majority of movement should happen in April!
I never written a letter of intent and can't really say too much about them. However, there's a bunch of posts on SDN about them. I recommend going through SDN and see what's the general consensus!
