Hey all,
Wondering if anyone had any experiences they would like to share about the Kaiser Organization. They good to work for? Specifically Southern Cal. How does their salary usually compare? I heard they work you pretty hard until you make partner in 3 years. Also is it very bureaucratic (spelling?)? I heard that at times it can be very hard to get things done.

I would appreciate any and all input.

Thanks

i did nitemagi...and I would like some more info....anything insightful or helpful to add rather than just telling me to do a search?? You're an attending in LA...maybe you could give me some feedback on how the Kaiser system is viewed by an outsider in So. Cal

I don't work for Kaiser but did interview with them after residency. They're viewed as good but inclusive. You can get a lot from the system as a patient, but hard to transition out of kaiser.

There are tremendous differences between the different sites. I found Downey to be by far the coolest and with psychiatrists that I would really enjoy working with. Almost took a job there. South Bay much less so. They work you hard, 30 minute med visits and depending on the location they may have backups waiting to fill no-shows. One of the more forward-thinking medical systems. EMR is nice. It's an institution. Permanente (the doctor's group) is a strong advocate and takes care of its own, hence the golden side to the handcuffs. Last I checked starting salary was around 180, with a 25k signing bonus, 225 after becoming partner, plus bonuses.
