Who has used Kaplan as a "tutor" for the PCAT? If used, would you recommend it to anyone else, or is it just a waste of money/time?

I haven't used a Kaplan tutor but I worked for Kaplan for a while and I wouldn't recommend it unless have a lot of money and you REALLY need personal, one-on-one attention to do well. Pros: It's convenient (they work with your schedule), you get the Kaplan Guarantee (if you don't get a good score you get to use Kaplan again), it's effective (only a few people did it but it proved to be pretty effective and they did well on the PCAT). The only con is that it's very expensive, more than the class.
I think that if your really need help studying for it and you're not comfortable just using a PCAT book or something, take the class (it's a little cheaper) or the online class, but I doubt you need the tutor.

I havent used the tutor service from kaplan but i did take the class. It helped me a lot. It was a while since i took the classes that were tested on the pcat and needed a lot of help reviewing. I could have done it myself but its so much easier to have someone teach you and tell you what exactly you need to study and help you with test strategies. It was the first time i took the pcat and i got a 98 composite score, much higher than i could ever image. The only down side was that it cost a lot, $1200 i think. And i almost dident get into pharmacy school and that would have been a waste of money. But i think that the only reason i got in was because i scored so well on the pcat. My gpa is not that good and not that much experience in pharmacy and i applied so late.

If you don't mind me asking...what was your stats and you score on the pcat?

If I were to take the pcat again I would have gone onto www.pcatprepclass.com and clicked on the self study guide. They will send you the materials in the mail and you dont have to drive to the prep course. This costs 300 bucks. I would have also used MCAT books, dont just limit yourself to PCAT books.
