  1. Pre-Dental
Hey guys, I just went over the questions in the Kaplan Blue Book for the bio section, and I found a couple that I was uncertain of and maybe any of you could help me out a bit.

Question 11:
Which of the following is involved in respiration and excretion, and develops into the placenta in humans?
A. Chorion
B. Allantois
C. Amnion
D. Yolk Sac
E. Placenta

The answer is B, according to the book, and I understand that as far as respiration and excretion are concerned, but formation of the placenta? From my understanding, and even the book states, that the chorion develops into the placenta? I got this wrong since I put chorion. Anyone who can explain further will be apreacitaed. Thanks

I ran into that question as well.

I believe it is written incorrectly.

The Allantois is involved in respiration and excretion, but it forms the umbilical cord.

The Chorion is involved in nutrient exchange via the blood and is involved in the formation of the placenta.
