i've noticed a lot of threads on the kaplan blue book, but hardly any on the cd that comes with it. the cd includes a full-length practice test. i took this test, and did horrible, my biology score was terrible (16). the score has really messed up my momentum over the past few days 🙁 . this surprises me, because i usually do well on other biology practice questions.

my question is how many of you have also taken that test from the cd, and how well did you do on the biology section, if you don't mind sharing that is.

Ha! I think the first time I took it I got a 13 on the Bio section! 75% of the crap I had to guess on. HAHAHA!

Yeah, the first time I took it there was alot of stuff I had no clue about. I just sat there thinking "what have I gotten myself into..."

I believe I, for sure, got above 20 for bio, o'chem & g'chem and 30 for QR (finished in 30 minutes) and at least around 22 for PAT. I couldn't do the reading because I couldn't see all the answer choices and had irregular jumps while trying to read the passages.

Dont be discouraged. Just keep going over the material, and use the explanations to go over all the questions you got wrong.

Personally, i was around a 19ish on Bio, got a 20 on bio on the real thing.

let me know if you can do the reading comprehension test on that CD. Everyone I know had a hard time seeing all the answer choices and many more technical difficulties.....

about 4 hours all together...
AA: 18
Bio: 19
Gen Chem: 16
Organic Chem: 21
Reading Comp: 17--CRAPPY! I usually get in the 20's on this, its actually my best score so I blame Kaplan's crappy set up...where its hard as hell to toggle through the choices...I agree...it sucks
PAT: 20...very happy about this and surprised...but then again its Kaplan...my Topscore ones have been around 17/18.
QR:13...I hate this stuff...havent studied much of it yet.

hey dexadental, great scores! i've heard to get an idea of how you'll do on the real thing, just add a couple of points to your AA and subtract a few from your PAT! Your looking at something like 20/18 🙂

If you don't mind me asking, did you read the entire kaplan book first? Or did you take the test to see where you were? I think if you read the book first, it would have been a considerable advantage, since those questions should be based on the internal contents of what was in the kaplan book.

I've read the entire kaplan book, did it back in february and have been putting in atleast 5 hours a day for the past 2 weeks...doing practice tests and reading, taking notes, etc. This DAT is going to be rocked! Thanks for the motivation too . Good luck, when you take it? I'm gonna do a topscore full length today.

From what I've heard, your still an early applicant if you take it by August (as long as AADSAS is completed). Anyway, good luck with your studying. Go for the 20's, so that within four or five months (assuming I get 20's too), we can converse on what would be the future, 'Official Where Are You Going 2006 Thread 😉 .

I am 100% sure that I can get above 20 for everything except reading. If I do well on RCT I can join the conversation.....If I don't do well on RCT I
l'll have to take the test as many times as it takes to get an acceptable score for RCT.

QR really sucks I know. Just a little side note for ya dexadental the PAT is not included in the AA. Your other scores look pretty solid for kaplan. I to hated taking the RC on kaplan.

RC is a pain in the anal! I mean, it's just so, ugh! Do you guys think I should start a new thread dedicated to everything concerning that portion of the DAT? I for one need help and advice on tips and techniques for that section. You know what, I think I am going to start a new thread!

Briefly browse the passage then go straight to questions...takes too long to read it and u can't fully comprehend the amt of info under such intense pressure. I feel bad...I have two tests coming up and no time to study for the dat for 2 days! EEEK! 😱

Just relax and you will do fine. If you panic you will not do well. I would not do a test tomorrow if you are giving the real thing Monday. If you unexpectedly do poorly it will ruin your chances for Monday.
