Hey,

I bought teh kaplan blue book and have been studying for it. However my mom is pushing me to take teh class.. I really dunno whats the difference between the two. DOes kids in the kaplan class get a different book? I mean i printed out these online exams my friend gave me from the kaplan class he took. if anyone can tell me the additional things recieved from the kaplan class that would be great

You get a Kaplan book, a PAT CD, a Kaplan work book, and a TON of practice tests that take forever to do (most are online). The Blue book is basically the same as the big Kaplan book, except you have more practice questions in the class book to do.

Here is my ranking of study tools

1. Destroyer
2. High Yield Organic Chemistry
3. AP Biology Book
4. Kaplan tied with Barrons DAT book

As mentioned, you do get a some other materials like a study book, flash cards, lots of practice tests and a CD, but the real benefit of the Kaplan DAT class is learning in a structured classroom environment. It was worth it for me as I learn better in a classroom than by reading on my own, but it is expensive so I would only recommend the course if a structred class works best for you. Otherwise, I would get the Kaplan Blue Book as you mentioned you already have, but I would also get Top Score Pro for some better practice tests, Schaum's outlines on Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry if you need more help with your sciences.

Some other resources you might want to consider include:
DAT Destroyer - somewhat expensive, but lots of positive reviews.
DAT Achiever
Barron's DAT guide - very helpful for the PAT section, but not much else.
Cliff's DAT guide - this is new so I haven't heard much about it.
Examkracker's MCAT - yes, this is an MCAT book, but is helpful.
