kaplan dat vs kaplan oat?

I was wondering if anyone actually used the KAPLAN DAT book to study can can tell me what they think of it (i'm on the verge of purchasing it because it's so hard to get the Kaplan OAT book by itself). I know this has been asked but I can't find anything where it does a direct comparison on Kaplan OAT vs Kaplan DAT ... only that it can be used.

I would prefer the big Kaplan OAT book but since I can't get it... I'm going for the next "best" option (i think). The only miss I can think of not using the Kaplan OAt is that of the physics section.

I have the Princeton's 2 big MCAT review books but I really need something that's more geared towards the OAT. I'm planning on getting kaplan oat practice tests later on (but i still prefer the review books on oat or dat).

Well, I may not be able to answer your question directly, but I can hopefully offer some insight.

I'm currently taking the Kaplan $1400 class that includes the OAT big book. The class is named OAT/DAT prep because we are constantly grilled again and again and again that the OAT/DAT test the exact same material, exact same questions. (the difference being physics of course). We take all the same tests with the DAT students, we have the same lectures, etc etc. So based on all that, I'd be pretty comfortable using DAT material for the OAT.

as for the KAPLAN Big Book (Review Notes) have you been checking the advertisements section of the forum? I've been trying to sell my old big book for 2 weeks now and finally completed the transaction today. I've seen several people selling their books, often in bundles, but you can ask them if they are willing to sell it separately. But yeah, I notice new Kaplan books going up every week.

Thank you for your thoughts 🙂 I just wanted to be sure before making any purchases. And yup i've been checking the advertisements, but not a lot of people are willing to break up the package when i asked. Oh well, I'll keep trying...

The ADA (American Dental Association) makes both the DAT and the OAT exam. Therefore, the exams are virtually identical, expect for a difference with one section (we have physics, they have PAT). I took a kaplan course, and the class was mixed with pre-dents as well. Get the DAT book 🙂 Gooood luck!
