So I took my first FL today and ended up with a 30 (10/9/11). I am done with all the content review and have roughly 5 more weeks until exam day (Aug 18). I found that the kaplan PS section is wayyy too inflated. I ran out of time on this section and ended up having to guess randomly on like 3 passages. I ended up getting like 21 questions wrong and still ended up with a 10. This doesn't seem right to me. For verbal I ended up missing 10 questions but I had to guess randomly on one passage because I ran out of time (missed 5 questions this way) and I ended up with a 9. On Bio I ended up getting 12 questions wrong and still ended up with a 11. I had to guess randomly on 2 passages because I ran out of time on this section as well. My target goal for the MCATs is a 34. During the next 5 weeks I am going to do like 13 practice tests and work on areas that I am weak such as PS and Verbal. I think I am fine on BS, just have to get the timing down.
Why are kaplan's tests so inflated? Do scores on kaplan practice exams actually correspond to the real mcat scores? If so do you guys mind posting how you did on these and how you did on the real thing? I see a lot of kids score 3 points lower on the real mcat then they did on the kaplan practice exams.
How well do AAMC scores correspond to the real thing? I keep seeing kids say that AAMC exams are much easier than the real thing.
