What did you guys think? PS was easier than FL1, Verbal the same. I thought I did good on BS, but it turns out that I did not do well in that section. When I went back and checked the answers, I thought some of it was confusing. Is it just me or did u guys find BS confusing as well?

There were soo many bio passages, it was great! However a few of the answers where a bit tough. For some reason I kept messing up on the one passage with the essential aminos for the bacteria, i got two problems wrong on that passage alone. Over all i didnt think it was that bad, however it definitly helped to have outside knowledge on this test. A lot of the questions could be answered without using much info from the passage

I'm starting to be concerned at my lack of ability to gauge how I'm doing on these tests. I too thought the PS was easier yet my score went down by 2 points. On the other hand, I found the biology section rather difficult yet my score went up by 2 points (from FL1). It seems like its impossible to accurately predict how you're doing with these scoring systems.

PS was a lot better than FL1. Verbal was hard but I'm bad at verbal so that's probably my reasoning. A lot of the passages in BS looked intimidating while browsing through, but once you actually read them and the questions, they weren't that bad. The first passage on Glycolysis and Phosphofructokinase got me confused so I moved on, but I came back at the end and finished it last with about 5 mins to spare.

Yes, I thought that PS was easier on this test. Considering I got a 9 and my last FL1 got a 6. I could have made a 10 had I not made stupid math errors. I did think verbal had two passages that were hard. And I thought the bio was pretty difficult. All those bacteria passages. I didnt know much about that. But I did score 1 point higher than my FL1. So....I dont know. I am not ableto fully gauge myself either. I am going to the center tomorrow and taking the AMCAS tests. See how I do on those.

In verbal, I first triaged the passages and in doing so skipped the first passage and started working on it with 5 min. left. Only then did I realize that it had 8 or something questions and I had to guess. I missed 6. It brought me 2 pts. down.

What was up with the Bio paassage about essential aminoacids? That passage pissed me off so much.

I have decided NOT to triage the passages. I am taking that from EK because they say, there are some really hard passages that have very simple questions. And if you skip it, then you may be skipping out on easy points. Even though the passage is hard, the questions may be simpler to answer. With that being said, I am still not sure how to map out passages, I mean, I know how to do it, but it just seems like it takes a long time and a time waster. But, I find that it does help. I dont know. EK suggests just reading the passage, no underlying, and then figuring out the main idea. I am doing a bit of both at this point. I really dont like Kaplan much anyway but have to live with them for now. (I am mostly doing EK 1001 question books, those are wonderful!)

What does it mean to "triage" the passage?

Triage means to quickly look through a few passages and do the ones you think are easier and keep the difficult ones for later. But it does not always work, because an easy passage might have hard questions and vice versa.
