I'm getting ready to begin studying for the April Mcat. It will be my first time taking the exam and I'm interested in purchasing some study materials. I visited Kaplans website and saw that they have flashcards with hundreds of tidbits of information that would be wise to know for the mcat. I'm interested in knowing if anyone has used them and if they are helpful? Also is there any other set of study guides, or practice books which would be a good and not too expensive buy? Thanks in advance

For books, I used ExamKrackers and liked them a lot. They function great for a review of material. I also looked at TPR stuff from time to time, but it seems better for concepts you need to learn as opposed to refresh.

I had the Kaplan cards and they were handy, but not thorough enough, imho. I ended up making my own.

You should use the flashcards to test yourself after you start re-learning the material.
for study materials: kaplan and princeton has nice study material. you could go on ebay to get them cheaper...also before you start doing anything...take a practice test to identify your weak/strong areas.

I don't like flashcards. I like to read about something, do problems, and learn it through practice. That's just me though.

Oh, and like the guy two posts above me says - ExamKrackers all the way. I found Kaplan was horrible.
