Kaplan full length practice test vs real DAT..sigh

Hey everyone,

So I just took the 3rd Kaplan full length practice test and bombed it like no other...im so depressed. Im taking the DAT in a week and a half..on the 9th. And im crying my eyes out because I have studied so hard and yet i continue to fail. I have been studying 3 months!!

Like seriously...wth.

How are the kaplan practice tests compared to the actual dat?
I dont know what to do anymore. i seriously just want to give up and f this...🙁🙁🙁

I feel your pain! This exam is so frustrating! I don't know the answer to your question. Do you think a few more weeks of studying your weaknesses might help? Maybe you can postpone 2 weeks?

I heard Kaplan is harder than the real DAT. I'm stressing out. I just want a 19AA and TS and as each day goes, I feel like my chances of getting that is slimmer. My test is on the 13th.

I would say use the Kaplan test to study your weaknesses and then (if you can) buy topscore and take those and see if you do better. If not, postpone and work on your weaknesses.

Kaplan tests suck and are outdated, if you know destroyer you'll do well come test day, kaplans practice tests are in no way indicative of how you'll perform...expect to do better on the real thing

Your not alone dilinim! I am so frustrated and tired of studying. I have done a couple Q-Vaults and my OC has cam up from my first. But Bio and GC went down!? Idk what to do! I've pushed my test back once already. I am planning on taking a Topscore to see where I fall on that then I will have a better idea of what to do. Although, I realize that nothing is accurate at estimating scores. We can only make inferences about how we will do by taking these practice tests. So far, I'm not satisfied

In my personal opinion, I think the 3rd kaplan test is wayyyyy harder than the others for some reason. I've read this in a couple of other threads out there. Try not to get too down about it. The tests themselves are a little outdated/off topic.

Thank you guys so much!! <3 I always feel better when I come here for some reason. I guess it helps knowing you're not alone in this stressful situation! 🙂

But now that I know kaplan tests tend to be harder it helps a lot!!
I went through the answers I got wrong and im like...wth...how did i get THAT wrong?! stupid stupid stupid lol

I'm treating this as such a high-stakes exam that I get so frustrated when my scores are not improving as fast as I want it to. And especially bc I'm a sub 3.0-er, so I KNOW my scores need to be amazing.

PAT is still wicked hard, I'm getting 18s on qvault bio, and I keep freaking out that I'm going to do horrible and not get in anywhere. I'm also taking it on the 9th. Not sure if I should postpone or not. Ugh. Hang in there everyone.

THIS PRACTICE TEST IS HARDER THAN THE OTHERS. I took it yesterday and the real DAT today. Most of my scores on it were ~18, I just got at 26 total score and acad. average on the real DAT-thing. So CHEER UP!

Oh I'm so sorry! Well thank you ma'am! You did an absurdly outstanding job. Especially in bio. I'm still in awe looking at that 30 haha.
