hey guys, do you think that the kaplan dat subject tests for gen chem are reflective of the real thing? are they harder? people keep saying how the real thing is easier, but is it easier bc less calculations, or easy conceptual stuff? thanks a bunch 🙂

yes, it was much easier.
yes, there were less calculations.
yes, it was easier conceptually.

honestly, if you have a firm grasp of the basics, you will rock this portion of the test. i breezed through it and actually thought i got every question right.

could u tell us more specifically? like what kind of calculations were there, what kind of concepts were involved? I am planning to go over every single formulas and memorize all of them, but it seems very hard and it would be very helpful if u could tell me what u remember from the real DAT. It could be even better if u took the test more than once and make sure that it wasn't just the coincident to get a easy verison of DAT.

i don't remember anything specific because i took it over a month ago. i just remember that it was significantly easier than all the practice tests that i took.
