I was wondering-

If hypothetically, I were to complete the 4 volumes of Kaplan Home Study, in addition to QBank, and going along with BRS as I take my courses, would that be adequate preparation for Step 1? Do I need to do more, less? (I'm NOT taking it this year btw). Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Thanks!!

I've never used the Kaplan series so I can't really comment on that. Personally, I feel that using review books along with your M2 classes, First Aid for Step I, and Qbank are the best supplements for Step I. If you are an M1, don't worry about Step I right now, focus on your classes instead. Also, in your M2 year, your primary goal should be focused on understanding the course material first and foremost, even more than trying to follow along in any BRS book or anything. Using a BRS or High-Yield or any other book like that along with your courses if you are doing well will make studying easier right before the boards but don't really start intensive studying for boards until 1-2 months right before Step I. At that time, set a schedule for yourself for Q-bank, First-Aid, and all your review books for each of the major topics on Step I. I followed that pattern and did very well on my Step I.
