OK, I know there are a few mentions of the Kaplan home study program on here, but I can't find anyone who really gives a run-down of how good it is. I know it is expensive, but it would be worth the money to me if I could use it instead of like 6 different little books like everyone else uses. I am not sure if most people don't use the Kaplan home study program because it is expensive or what, since medical students to tend to avoid spending loads of money on books they will never use again. I am the sort of person who would much rather avoid having to organize all the information myself since I'll be doing full-time research while studying and would rather just have it all in front of me if possible. I'd really appreciate any input anybody here has.

there are several threads on this topic. just do a search with the keywords 'kaplan home study". you will find that these books are excellent, well-worth the money, and that they will suit you very well (at least according to the description of your requirements)

I guess I thought I had looked through all the threads and didn't see much. Perhaps they are archived and a search will reveal more than directly scrolling. Thanks for your input on the study program.

I have only looked at the Home Study Program somewhat superficially (mine set just came in today) - but I have to say I like the lay out much better than the live lecture series.

I'm in love with Vol III and IV (the systems based books). I can give you a more detailed response sometime next week, after my exams.

i even like the micro subject section (vol I) much better than the live lecture series. there is actually some next in there instead of just bullet point after bullet point.

again, when i have a chance to look through it a little better i'll give a better response, unless you already found one searching the forums

Hey 😉

Just an FYI, if you buy them off ebay you can get them for like half price.

Yeah, I bought mine for $260 the 2007 edition. It seems very well written, I started readign it from the very begining. I Plan to memorize all 4 kaplan books and then memorize FA 2008. I am guessing I'll read all of them like 5-6 times each. But I think that this will adequately prepare me for a 240+.....I HOPE!

good luck memorizing all that

I likee the 6 book set, goes with the videos. The 4 book is just the 6 book set all chopped up and rearranged so it doesn't go with the videos.
