I have access to both, including the video for the lecture series, and plan on just using either for biochem. I've heard either is fine, but the biochem in the self-study series is hundreds of pages shorter than the lecture note biochem. Does anyone know what the difference is between the two?

Maybe you have that confused. I remember biochem being longer in the home study vs. lecture notes (that would only make sense right?)

It's personal preference.

lecture notes should be done along with the video.

Or you could always get Goljan (and ____) Rapid Review Biochem

Can anybody attest to this from experience?

I inherited a copy of the biochem lecture notes and I haven't had the time to look and see if they're "complete" on their own. Biochem seems to be a subject without a consensus on the best board prep book. I've got Lippencott's and used it extensively for course work but most folks on here seem to think its too long.

Many folks seem to praise Kaplan's biochem material so I took advantage of a book being given away.
