I was doing a practice exam for fun...-_-; and i found this problem

"u have 30 questions and 40 minutes to finish them all
how much time can he use for each of the remaining problems?"

this is a very easy problem to solve, but I am temporarily(?) confused.
should i use Questions per Minutes or Minutes per Question?
if i use questions per minutes then the answer is 30/40= "3/4"
if i use minutes per question then the answer is "4/3"

the back of the book says answer should be 4/3. but why can't i use questions per minutes?

How many minutes will you use for each question? Hence, minutes per question. Thinking about it logically you will know that there is more than one minute for each question, therefore 4/3 is correct.

Exactly.

Key parts are "how much time can he use for each of the remaining problems?"

If they wanted questions per minute, they'd probably ask something to the effect of "how many questions can he do for each of the remaining minutes?"

... although that would also be a strange question, but whatever 😛

oh...i m supposed to use maximum minutes per question so i guess question per mins is wrong. ty.

NOTE: The problem doesn't say how many of the 30 questions are remaining... 😉
