hey all! I am writing the OAT in december (first time) and I was wondering what book to get.

My housemates have a kaplan PCAT and a kaplan DAT book, I got a kaplan MCAT book. I don't want to bother to go look for the big kaplan OAT book because I figured the material would be similar..

so should I study with the PCAT book/DAT book/MCAT book? I dont expect a lot of you guys would be able to help me because chances are you guys use the proper OAT book haha..

but any advice would be good!!

oh and I remember i read from some other thread that the DAT book was similar.. oh and i have princeton review mcat books so I can study the physics with that =)

Hey,

I studied with the kaplan DAT course book. The science sections for the OAT and DAT kaplan books are identical, except the DAT doesn't have physics. The notecards that come with the book say OAT/DAT... I also used various MCAT books and the OAT Destroyer (highly recommend). Study with these materials and take hundreds of practice problems and you will do well. This was my approach and I did pretty well.

I'd use your DAT book for GChem, Ochem, Bio, QR and Reading Comp. Use the MCAT book for the physics section. But honestly, if you've written the MCAT (I assume you have since you have an MCAT book) you'll find that the OAT is pretty much a joke in comparison.
