I've got Step 1 in about 6 weeks and was thinking of doing 7 sets of 50 q's on Kaplan Qbank just as an early diagnostic (while I still have my Qbank subscription). Is this worthwhile? There's that Kaplan Score Estimator thingy where I could combine my cumulative percentage for the 350, ... but then again, it would take forever to review all the answers afterwards (which I don't feel like doing). Plus I still have about 2 weeks of classes and finals to go, so not sure it's the best use of my time at the moment.

Any thoughts from past test takers on this? Good idea? A waste?

(And yes, I do plan on taking some CBSSA's and switching to UWorld in the coming weeks.)

Alright, so I ended up doing it today (I did 7 x 48, timed, like the real test would be, not sets of 50)... and personally I found it very helpful, even though I won't really have any time to look over the answers. It was a good run-through of what 7 1/2 hours is going to feel like - and gave myself breaks for lunch, getting up to walk around in between, etc. By the 3rd or 4th block, I found myself reading questions 3 or 4 times because my brain wasn't as fresh... so it looks like I have to build up some endurance. I had extra time to spare on the last 2 blocks, so it looks like I started to get better with the whole speed thing.

From the 7 sets, I got 67% right. Kaplan Estimator says that'll be a 238 six weeks from now, obviously I'm taking it with a grain of salt. Any clue if that estimated score correlates with the real deal?

I highly recommend doing this if you have enough time and plenty of Kaplan Qbank questions left to spare. I'm glad I set aside some time for it.
