I have been using the "new" Kaplan qbank, and was wondering if anyone else is having issues with the program transitioning from question to question. It seems to take >30sec to go from 1 question to the next all while counting down the time allotment. 👎

I have resolved that this is not an issue with my computer via the IT dept at my school. I called Kaplan and they state that no one else has reported a problem.

Wondering if anyone has found a solution?

(the dialogue "waiting on jasper.kaplan" appears when the program is trying to transition).

Yes! I have been having this problem too....and it drives me crazy. 30 sec is longer than my patience lasts, so I'll usually just "suspend" the test and restart it...but beware doing that - I found that it would change my next couple answers.

For example...if it gets stuck going from 10 to 11 and I suspend, then restart....I'll enter an answer for 11 then move on to 12, but if I go back and check 11, it will have changed my answer. 😡 Very frustrating!

Definitely update if you figure out some kind of solution! 🙂

I thought it was just me...🙄

I've reset my modem and rebooted my computer...so I know thats not the problem...its got to be with Kaplan.

Sometimes during transition it freezes up too, so I have to start from the beginning...bummer!😡

i've been having the same problem. I just thought it was my wireless internet connection. I've been doing the exact same thing that blossompp3 does and unfortunately it does sometimes change my answers to either the previous question or the following question. It's very frustrating.

Glad its not just me...

That being said, since SDN seems to have 'relations' 😉with Kaplan, perhaps someone who is affiliated with SDN (i.e. Moderator?) can contact them and get a number or email to address concerns to?

Maybe if we all call/email they will do something about it.

Hi guys,

This is the response I got from Kaplan when I sent additional emails about this problem:

Thank you for your e-mail. Are you using a wireless connection to access
your course? As students who report this issue usually are using
wireless internet connection. A wired connection works better with the
Qbank. Please let s know if you have further questions.

I still had issues with the wired connection but the time was significantly less between questions, so try connecting with a USB cable.

I rarely get this problem (1/50 questions), and it only lasts for ~5-10 sec max before advancing to the next question.

specs:
2gHz laptop, 512MB RAM, wireless, firefox.

like everything else in the world, it's probably microsoft's fault. try firefox if you're using IE.

i use firefox and i still have the problem. it might deal with using a wireless internet connection.

hmmm, questions during the day or at night when everyone else is doing them?

Why is the Qbank full of questions not covered in the Kaplan books? There are some drug questions that arent in my big pharm book and barely on google search. WTF! So far Qbank sucks to USMLEworld big time. Only good thing about Qbank is you can take screen shots. I like that lazy aspect of kaplan.
