Hey all,

I've been trying to work through at least 15 questions per night. I'm using Kaplan Qbank and so far I've been using it along with class material.

As of now, I'm getting ~63% of the question right. I'm hovering at or slightly above the mean.

Are Kaplan questions harder and more nitty gritty? I find them to be testing on some very detailed, factual questions.

Overall, I like it. I recommend it!

As of now, I am unsure whether I'll be doing Kaplan courses or not... but I will definitely get UWorld come May.

I feel like Kaplan is more nitty gritty! there are times when i look at some of the questions I just wonder where they get the question from. it does make me feel better knowing that only 11% of ppl get the answer ryt 😛

I did all three of the big three banks, Kaplan was easily the hardest and least useful. Seem to remember the biochem questions being particularly bad.

Seriously, some of these biochem questions are ridiculous. Especially the ones at the end of each chapter (not the ones in the Qbanks).

Having done ~ 10% of both the Kaplan qbank and UWorld, I'd have to say that while the Kaplan questions dig into a multitude of (possibly irrelevant) details and thus seem "harder" at times, the UWorld questions are much more cerebral and make you really think deeply about the material. Whenever I finish a UWorld block, I feel like I've learned a ton about the topics being tested, and I've had a number of "aha!" moments where I've finally understood something that had confused me. On the other hand, I've never felt that way about a qbank block - although I do think qbank is better in some ways for a first pass to make sure you're absorbing the details adequately. The qbank questions also seem to overlap with class material much more than UWorld's do, so they help a lot if you're doing them synchronized with your class blocks.
