KAPLAN Review course....worth it?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I took it 2 years ago and I wouldn't recommend anyone taking it. The only good thing that you will get out of it is Kaplan's amount of subject tests and the practice exams. Their practice exams are pretty good, helped give me an idea of how my performance was gonna be before I took the actual DAT. I personally think their review lessons/lectures are completely pointless. In the end it will be up to you to have the motivation to study and prepare for the DAT. By the way, if you do a search in this forum, or the pre-dental forum, you will find that all of the subject tests and practice exams are given for free by several SDN's members.
Good luck with the DAT 🙂

don't do the classroom - if you really want to, take the online version. or you could save money and do it the old fashioned way with books

I took Kaplan's classroom and thought it was helpful. 👍
My teacher was willing to help us with questions regarding DAT
as well as application process.
I asked him many questions whenever I had hard time understanding
those written explanations. His explanations helped me so much.
The course's syallabus also pushed me doing my homework and tests
on time. I took the DAT not too long after finishing Kaplan class and did
pretty OK.
Good luck!

I never took the course and just studied on my own. I did just fine - AA 20 TS 22. Honestly, everyone whom I know say that Kaplan course is not very helpful. But make sure you get ALL of KAPLAN study meterials - those were the guide to me. In general, you know yourself better: if taking a class usually helps you, then take it; if you do fine studying on your own then I encourage not to take the class. That worked great for me - I did well on the test and saved about $1000.

I hope that helps. Good luck!
