Kaplan Subject Tests are a little nuts....

So I read the Kaplan section on Organic Chemistry Twice. I read it once in the BB, and then again in the Lecture Review Book and answered the questions. When I took the subject tests, I only got about 18-20 right on each. Some of the questions are absolutely out there.

Did anyone else notice this? I highly doubt there would be DAT questions like this. If I'm wrong, well, I guess I have more to study.

Anyone else have feedback?

The Kaplan test try to trick you.......the DAT normally doesnt

I went through the kaplan subject tests and this is what I think...


Bio: way too easy. I mean...it was a joke.

Gchem: easy compared to Destroyer and Achiever, but there are a few good conceptual questions here and there. However, it's nothing you won't find in Destroyer or achiever.

Ochem: pretty good. There were a few questions that I thought were pretty unique and could easily be tested for on a number standardized tests.

PAT: A joke...I got a 15 on the real PAT, and I was able to answer most of the questions correctly w/ the exception of TFE.

I remember gettin 16-18s on some of the Ochem subject tests...they were impossible.

I did manage a 23 in Ochem on the real deal though...wouldnt sweat it

I found most of the subject tests to be reasonable with the exception of the third one...I got hammered on that one 15/30 OUCH!😱

I've been doing fairly well on the full length practice tests until I got to the 3rd one also. For some reason they threw in multiple trick questions in the Gen Chem and Orgo sections. Some of which I have never seen the likes of. The PAT was even a @#$!*!

Anyone else take the 3rd full length and find the same?

For me, I thought the Kaplan Bio was easy. I was scoring 20s on it and got a 17 on test day. Gchem and Ochem seemed pretty accurate to me. And I agree, PAT was a joke on Kaplan, I was scoring 19-21 on Kaplan and got a 15 on test day!
