Kaplan Subject Tests for QR

If you took the Kaplan course, whether online or not, they give you 7 QR subject tests. I don't know about you all, but some of them are time crunchers! The ones with word problems, 25 in 30 mins, are insane. They take me about an hour to do. The non word problems arent bad, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one overwhelmed by lack of time with these tests. Anyone got input?

i'm just finishing them up too and agree completly! i usually took an hour 🙁


I dunno what this means for the real thing but I found the kaplan stuff to be hard and miss almost half sometimes. I guess I just gotta keep diong them to build speed and confidence. Are you using anything else other than kaplan or have you heard about if this is harder or easier or good enough practice for the real QR?😕

yeh i'm feeling the same way about those tests. I got destroyer recently and i find thats alot better and doable than the kaplan. It allows you to build confidence at the sametime do questions that are similar to what you find on the test. I stopped taking the kaplan subject tests after test 5 i just got that all wrong i suck at math so maybe that's my problem. :-\

You and I always seem to be on track with studying. I just did the first half of the last test (test 7). So far, my grades are: (out of 25) 18,25,19,25,21,23, all respectively. So you can see that the ones I ace are the non word problem ones and my 19 and 18 were both on word problem ones. After I finish the Kaplan plan, I'm gonna take a practice test and move onto my other programs. I'm taking my test Aug 24th. As far as other subject tests, I got 33 and 30 on bios, I don't remember the ochems, and -2 and -4 on the first two gchems. So far, I think I'm doing well. Trying to get a 25, and so far the only practice test I took I got a 23 on. Gotta keep movin up.

hey guys - as i'm practicing with these kaplan QR tests...i've noticed that it's very challenging to do as well...at least with the given time...do you know if these are indicative of the actual DAT QR section? it's making me very anxious and my test is in 3 week!

yeah...i'm the same boat...
i got 3 weeks left as we speak and i just started looking at the kaplan's QR practice test. They are extremely hard, i can't even get thru the first page without getting 5 wrongs. so i just tossed them to the side and started with Destroyers and it DID build some confidence i might look at them later just for a feel and work along with the answer key.
Did anyone start doing practice test yet? TopSCore?

I just got done with the Kaplan midterm. I didn't do so well...kind of dissappointing. The QR section killed me, which is completely frustrating since I've always been good at math. For the most part it wasn't knowing how to do the problems, it was having enough time to do them. I ended up having to guess on the last 10-15 problems because of time. These were my scores from the midterm... please don't laugh, and share yours when you get them.

Anyways, I hope that the math section of the DAT is easier than this... if anyone has heard, please let us know.
