Kaplan Tests With Info Not In Notes

I noticed a lot of people in the forum mentioning that Kaplan has a lot of info in their tests that they don't cover in their notes. I'm sure some people in here already know, but I am taking the Kaplan course and the information is covered in their online subject tests and lessons. I'm sure they do it so people still have a reason to take the course.

Sorry if you already knew this before you read it, I just figured it would help someone out!

I think overall, the online stuff covers a lot of information that their books don't. Nothing you can't find somewhere else though. The only advantage is the almost endless number of little practice quizzes!

My DAT is in 7 days!! Good luck everyone!!

I have the online too and I can tell you that there are things they test on that are NEITHER in the blue book or in the online workshops.

kaplan does not cover everything from their subject test in either the course or the BB. The nice thing though is that they do give pretty good explanations to each question. They explain why the right answer is right and why the wrong answers are wrong making it really helpful.

I haven't found their prac tests to be unfair in terms of the questions they ask. I do believe their mini quizzes have uncovered information, but I haven't noticed any uncovered material in the practice tests from their kaplan blue book, kaplan course book, and online materials. It could be because our instructor went out of his way to cover more complex material than what the class booklet covered--- I can't remember if it was stuff that was just simply not covered by Kaplan.

The Kaplan scores I'm getting seem to be inflated. Too bad htey don't offer a real practice DAT exam in the test center like they do for GMAT!! Now maybe that would be worth the price of the course.

All this talk about getting FRAPPED is making me less confident for the real thing!!

Relax...you can also get PIANOED or ETHICSED...just as bad, I joke...
Have you gone through Cliffs or Destroyer?

Yeah IMO Kaplan does a good job in building a basic foundation but the subject tests for sure cover topics that are not listed in their main notes. Does anyone know how to get access to the online tests and quizzes without taking the course? My friend sent me her subject test but I know there are other resources Kaplan gives. I really like Kaplan's subject tests and feel that they are a little more on par with the real DAT (OCHEM & GCHEM) compared to destroyer.

I don't think you can get access without taking at least the 500 dollar online class.

I have gone through Cliffs--- don't have destroyer. Hope that is not going to be a big deal for the real thing. Do you think it's that bad that I haven't used Destroyer?

And yes I realize the DAT is hard no matter what version you get. All you can do is prepare and hope for the best!!
