kaplan usmle notes

which ones do you have?? THe organ systems ones or the white lecture books.

The Physio and Biochem notes are pretty good. Pharm is decent Micro, and Path are bad. I'm sure they have all the info one would need but the format is horrible. For instance Micro is basically a huge list that is bounded into a book. Don't know about anatomy since I don't have the time to read that huge book that focuses on a low yield subject. Most of the books have way to much info though, if you take the classes the instructors will tell you what high yield things to focus on. If I wasn't taking the Kaplan class I probably wouldn't touch the books.

Allendo,

Most students will tell you that the Kaplan Lecture notes are more than enough to prepare you for the exam, but if you ask the students that really know what they're talking about, they'll tell you to invest some money on some review books instead. The goldens of all golden books, BRS Path, BRS Physio,BRS Behavioral, BRS Cell & Histo (first 4 Chapters) or HY Molec. & Cell Bio, FA, CMMRS, HY for the anatomies, and for Biochem either Kaplan Biochem, which is the best lecture book out of all seven, or Lippincott's Biochem. More than that you don't need. The Kaplan path is terrible. Some of the other subjects are good, the anatomies are pretty good, and the physio also, but stick with the most reputable books that you've seen and heard mostly all of the forum members study off of, which are pretty much the ones mentioned above with a few exceptions.

Good luck in your studies.

I've been given the lecture notes books, are these alone sufficient for review?
