All Right, so i took the Pcat in Jan and i got like a 15% on Vebal :scared: so i decided that maybe i should reamp my skills in vocab and took a latin class during the semster and signed up for the Kaplan Course. Now my score has been in the high 80s. Now will that translate to the Pcat or will i bomb it again. I seriously have no idea how i got a 15%. Doesnt that mean i only got like 3 questions right or maybe the strategy where i put my own word before i look at the answer choices helped me, since during jan i just read the answers and picked one

I suggest taking the Harcourt Practice PCAT exam online. From my experience, certain test-prep books tend to make the verbal section more difficult than it really is by putting in rarely used words for the sake of attempting to simulate the difficulty on the PCAT. In reality, the real PCAT uses words that you've probably have seen or should have seen by now even if you can't recall the exact definition of every word.

Remember, you are trying to make conceptual comparisons between words for the analogies section and you are try to find the correct "fit" for words in sentence completions. Learning roots and definitions is the first step, but limiting yourself to these strategies will not help that much on the real exam as the point of the verbal connections is to make connections between words and other words (analogies) or small passages (sentence completions).
