Hi guys:

I just want to know if watching Kaplan videos is a must for step 1 preparation ?

When it must be watched (before LN or after)?

Is there a significant difference between the 2010 version and the latest in content?

I will appreciate if someone answer's this....🙂

if you're at a US school then it's not necessary. you should already have a strong base by your coursework. unless your school is notoriously bad at teaching a certain subject i would skip kaplan and focus on the big 3 of FA, UW, and pathoma for dedicated time.

if you're at a foreign school and have an extended period to study then it might be a good idea because what they emphasize in your coursework might not line up to USMLE standards as what US schools teach.

2 pieces of advice that helped me greatly from an upper level:
1) do tons and tons of board questions...thousands
2) Kaplan videos at 1.5x to 2x and lecture notes (Biochem, Pharm, Neuroanatomy, Physiology)

My MS1 and MS2 coursework did NOT prepare me well enough, and to think US MD schools do a good job at teaching towards the Step 1 is grossly wrong. They were not clinically oriented enough, and had way too much minuscule detail.

sorry if this sounds dumb, but what does LN mean? If it means Lecture Notes, shouldnt' you read it along with the videos?

LN=Lecture Notes. You can understand videos easily and focus on difficult concepts only after having quick scan of concerned topic before watching video

i want to know what is the app for my android tablet to view kaplan lecture videos and kaplan HY videos. plz share app required for samsung tablet for watching above videos. when i was tryng i just got some ? symbols on my screen

Thanks for your advices,but you mean other Kaplan LN's ( Pathology,Beh Science,... ) are inefficient?
