I am running out of AAMC materials to practice on. So as practice (Timing, handling diff passages, questions etc) I will be taking more Kaplan based tests.
Is this a good idea?

Is that good idea? AAMC materials I found were a bit simpiler but not too different than Kaplan......appreciate your thoughts on this.

I ran out of AAMC materials. I'm using Kaplan FL's and section tests to fill up the rest of the week before my test. I took the 8/20 test and I must say Kaplan is more similar to it than AAMC. by that I mean the 8/20 test is about the same difficulty as Kaplan but AAMC is WAY TOO EASY. I don't know why people on here are saying AAMC are the best predictors of your score, I call bull**** on that because the MCAT definitely has gotten much harder than it was a few years ago.

Kaplan is nice for the increased difficulty, but the scale is totally ridiculous and not something you should expect on the test (65% for 11, etc)

I heard Kaplan FLs involve a lot more math in their PS section, compared to the AAMCs.

I thought the Kaplan material was pretty good personally... I'd say that the real exam is somewhere in between the Kaplan FLs and AAMCs.

I also took the 8-20 test, and found it was way more difficult than the AAMC practice tests. That being said, my actual MCAT score was right on the money as predicted by my AAMC practice test averages.

I used the Kaplan books to study, and I did some of their practice tests, but I got frustrated with their verbal portions, which I thought weren´t a very accurate portrayal of the actual MCAT, as well as the bio sections, which I thought had discreets of the sort unlikely to be on the actual exam (asking about specific diseases in particular, of which there was no information even in the review materials). I ended up switching to AAMC for all my practice tests.

If you run out of AAMC practice tests, by all means use the Kaplan ones to practice, but I found the AAMC to be much more indicative of my ultimate performance.
