Hi guys,

I was wondering if using the KBB 3rd edition would be fine or do you guys recommend buying the latest edition?

It's fine to use older KBB versions I felt it was good for some test taking strategies, but for a review for the material on the test it was quite lacking. I ended up supplementing KBB with AP CliffNotes for biology, Chad's Videos for chemistries, SAT prep books for math practice, DATQVault for practice questions, and CrackPAT for the PAT.

You won't run into any problems using an old version of KBB. You will run into problems if you rely on KBB. I didn't like it at all. It was a boring read, and some of the stuff was too in-depth. The PAT portion was also WAY too easy, but I guess it's a good place to get started. Use Cliff's AP Biology, Barron's AP Biology, and Chad for the chemistries. I wouldn't use this book at all--I went through the biology section once and hated it! Barron's and Chad are AWESOME.

I agree with glimmer. I used it on bio only and it went way too in depth in stuff that most likely wont even come up. Chemistry is about as dry as it gets and if you use chads videos, there is no reason to use KBB for either gen chem or Ochem.

Another thing to mention is the several mistakes in the book both with information and simple spelling. All in all, I would not recommend the book. There are plenty of better resources.
