I received a secondary from KCOM today. They require a LOR from a science faculty and a letter from a physician (MD or DO). Does anyone know if the physician letter is one I shadowed? I have a DO letter, but I don't think it is that good. However, my P.I. is an M.D. and I know he wrote me a great letter. Which should I use?

Also, can I send more than 2 letters to them?

I think they mean the one you shadowed in a clinical setting. You can send them both DO and MD, it won't hurt. Yes, you can send more than 2. Two letters is likely the minimum they require.

Bahhh how??? Did I fill out a different primary or something haha?? I sent it in June 6th and I still haven't even been verified. Yet people are getting secondaries. This is bananas

I sent in primary June 4 at 1:00am. I was verified June 9.

@Awesome Sauceome , I can totally understand your frustration, but try to remember that you will still be super early compared the average Joe candidate (aka non-SDN'ers) and I have faith that you'll do great 🙂

I'm still waiting on my DO letter. Eep.

Send whichever you feel better about if they give you the choice. I don't know that they will read them if you send more than what they ask for? You'd probably have to ask @Goro

I just received ATSU-Arizona a few minutes ago as well.

Yeahh buddy! I'm fired up guys. Let the fun begin!

Maybe try the KCOM 2013-2014 thread?

Why does it feel like the cycle is starting earlier this year?

I've seen LOR from 3, maybe even 4 doctors. I think my max was about 8-9. I doubt that there is a max on doctor LORs, so go ahead and send both. If you ever have a doubt about a LOR, don't send it.

Okay, so even though on the secondary it doesn't say we can or can't send in extra letters, I still should?

Just pick any physician to put in that field. They're going to read both LORs anyway. They just want contact info for one of them.

I had 3 physician letters and just randomly picked one. Still got an interview.

Most schools will ask you not to send in too many LORs. I believe anything higher than 8 is just stupid. That's why I made it a personal goal to send 8+. Ask the admissions if you have to. 1 school told me not to send more than what they ask. I don't remember which one it was off the top of my head.

Has anyone who has been verified still waiting on a secondary?
